Paste polishing is used on dull and or dirty stone floors to both clean and restore the luster. Afterglow uses various pastes or powders depending on the type of stone in conjunction with a floor buffer. You can think of this process like a rubbing compound for the floor. I couple the process with my clean and capture steam tools to clean the pores of the stone at the same time. A high lustre can be achieved, but if the stone is severely scratched or acid etched, diamond grinding will be necessary before hand. This is not usually the case, as paste polishing works wonders by itself and is a very cost effective remedy for a blah looking floor ( or counter top too!)
The final step is to seal with a solvent based sealer.
